Hacksaw ridge is war movie which is plotting the real-life story of Desmond doss, he got the medal of honor and he is the first American who got that honor without firing a shot.
Desmond's father Tom was a soldier and he lost all of his friends during the war and became a drunkard, Desmond his brother Hal and mamma having a tough time because of this they hate him because once he became out of control he used to hit and abuse mamma. so both of them grew up as good mamma's boys
the movie story grows like this.
once they became young men the WW-II has started all young people become patriotic and they went to save their country and fight for the people by joining the war
by this time Desmond fall in love with a nurse named Dorothy, she refused to send him to the war but he promised that he will come back and marry her, and he borrowed medical books from her and learned the basic nursing so he can join the military as a medic but the army want him to fight as a normal soldier rest is the movie,you should watch and enjoy it.
After the long gap melgibson directed this movie, his previous one as director is "Apocalypto"
